Setting Up Your Badgr Backpack

Badges that you earn from AISAP can be shared on social media, but in order to do this you need to set up a backpack to hold these badges. Follow these steps to create an account on badgr.com to and set up your backpack.

  1. Go to badgr.com, click “Create an Account” and sign up. This will create your backpack to hold any badges that you’re awarded. NOTE: Do NOT create an account with backpack.openbadges.org because this service is being phased out
  2. Once your account is set up, you will receive an email from noreply@badgr.io with a “Confirm Now” button to verify your account. Click on this button and a new window will open up to badgr.io where you are already logged in

Uploading Badges To Your Backpack

  1. Log into your account at https://cred.education/aisap and login with your credentials
  2. In the top-right corner, click on your profile image and select “Profile”
  3. Under the “Badges” tab you should see all of the badges that you have been awarded by AISAP
  4. Click on the badge name that you would like to upload to your backpack. This will bring up information about the badge
  5. At the top-left of the screen will be a “Download” button just under the badge icon. Click this button to save the .png file somewhere on your computer that you will be able to find
  6. Now go back to your account on badgr.com and go to the “Badges” page
  7. Click on the “Add Badge” button in the top-right corner, and either drag-and-drop or browse to the .png badge file that you downloaded from Moodle and then press “Add Badge”

Creating A Badge Collection

  1. Once your badge has been uploaded to your Badgr account, we will need to create a collection so that you can show it off on other sites
  2. Click on the “Collections” tab at the top of the screen and select “Create Collection”
  3. Give a name and description for this group of badges and then click on the “Create Collection” button again. Now it should show up on your “Collections” page
  4. Now click on the “Add Badges” button in the middle of the page and click on the checkbox to the left of each badge you want to show off in this collection. Once you press “Save Changes” all of those selected badges will appear in your collection
  5. Under the description of your collection will be a small slider labeled “Public”. Click on this slider to allow other people to view your collection of badges. (When you click on the slider, the “Share Collection” button will turn blue and can be clicked)
  6. When you earn more badges in the future, you can just go back to the “Collections” tab on your Badgr account and add them to this collection and they will show up on any site where it is displayed

Displaying Badges On LinkedIn

  1. Open a new tab in the same web browser that your Badgr account is open on, go to linkedin.com and log in to your account. This allows Badgr to access your LinkedIn profile
  2. Go back to your Badgr account and go to the “Collections” tab
  3. Click on the “Share Collection” button next to the collection of badges that you want to share
  4. Click on the “Social” tab and select the “LinkedIn” button. This will open a new window with 2 options for your badge collection: “Share in a post” and “Send as private message”
  5. If you select “Share in a post” you need to add a comment to the post (type in the area where it says “What do you want to talk about?”) or else the post will not show up. Click on “Post” when you’re finished and this collection will appear on your LinkedIn page

Displaying Badges on Facebook

  1. Open a new tab in the same web browser that your Badgr account is open on, go to facebook.com and log in to your account. This allows Badgr to access your Facebook profile
  2. Go back to your Badgr account and go to the “Collections” tab
  3. Click on the “Share Collection” button next to the collection of badges that you want to share
  4. Click on the “Social” tab and select the “Facebook” button. This will open a new window with several options for how to share your collection of badges
  5. Select who you would like to share your post with and which feed it will show up on. click “Post to Facebook” and this collection will appear on your Facebook page

Displaying Badges on Twitter

  1. Open a new tab in the same web browser that your Badgr account is open on, go to twitter.com and log in to your account. This allows Badgr to access your Twitter profile
  2. Go back to your Badgr account and go to the “Collections” tab
  3. Click on the “Share Collection” button next to the collection of badges that you want to share
  4. Click on the “Social” tab and select the “Twitter” button. This will open a new window with the link to your badge collection already inside a text box. Add any additional text you would like to this tweet. Once you’re finished press the “Tweet” button and this message will be sent out from your Twitter account
